Website relaunch for EUR 400 to 1,400 — without losing search positions
For businesses with a site that still works but is unusable on a phone, loads too slowly, or that nobody has been able to edit for years.

What is a website relaunch?
A website relaunch is the rebuilding of an existing website while preserving its addresses, its content and the positions it has earned in search engines.
A website relaunch at Vantage Growth costs between EUR 400 and EUR 1,400 and always includes a redirect plan that preserves the existing addresses.
Who is this for — and who is it not for?
A good fit if one of these applies
- Businesses with a site older than five years that is only readable on a phone by zooming
- Businesses whose WordPress install has gone years without updates and has become a security risk
- Businesses that want to keep their site but shed the maintenance burden and the load time
Not a fit if one of these applies
- Anyone who only wants to change a few texts, prices or opening hours — that is an edit and costs a fraction
- Online shops with order history, customer accounts and a connected ERP system
- Anyone expecting more enquiries from a relaunch alone, without changing content or reachability
What is included?
- A complete inventory of every existing address, including the pages nobody remembers
- Baseline measurement: load time, Core Web Vitals, Search Console errors, accessibility violations
- A redirect plan sending every old address to its counterpart with a 301 — no chains, no dead ends
- Migration of content and a rebuild of structure, design and technology
- Contact form without third-party services, spam protection without a captcha, confirmation email
- Legal texts brought up to date, in particular the move from section 5 TMG to section 5 DDG
- A second measurement four weeks after launch, using exactly the same figures as the baseline
How does it work and how long does it take?
| Step | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory | 2 to 3 days | A complete list of every reachable address, measurement of load time and Core Web Vitals, and an analysis of Google Search Console. The result is a written baseline report with figures rather than impressions. |
| Structural decisions | 3 to 5 days | Deciding which pages stay, which are merged and which disappear. Every address that goes away is assigned its redirect target at this point. |
| Draft | 3 to 5 days | Home page and one subpage as a clickable preview. Changes to colours, type and layout happen here, before the rest is built. |
| Build and redirects | 1 to 2 weeks | Rebuilding every page, migrating content, setting up and testing all redirects on a password-protected preview address. |
| Go-live | 1 day | Switching over, checking every old address returns a 301, submitting the new sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, testing the form with a real enquiry. |
| Second measurement | 4 weeks after launch | The same figures as the baseline, plus a check for 404 errors and indexing problems. You get the before and after side by side. |
What does it cost and what drives the price?
This service costs between €400 and€1,400. Vantage Growth applies the German small business rule under section 19 of the VAT Act, so no VAT is shown and the amounts are final prices.
- Number of existing addresses — twenty pages sit at the lower end, a hundred at the upper
- Whether content can be migrated as is or needs reworking
- Whether the structure stays or is recut, because that determines the number of redirects
- Whether a second language comes along
- Whether the site should be editable afterwards and therefore needs a content system
Where a relaunch most often goes wrong
The most expensive mistake in a relaunch is not poor design, it is the forgotten address. Every URL that existed before and leads nowhere afterwards loses everything it had built up in positions and inbound references. This almost never affects the home page and almost always the pages nobody thinks about: the old job posting, the blog entry from 2019, the PDF price list a directory links to.
That is why every relaunch here starts with the complete list. It is assembled from three sources at once, because none of them is complete on its own: the existing sitemap, the Google Search Console reports, and a crawl of every internally linked page. Only once that list exists does the conversation move on to structure.
Why blanket redirects to the home page do harm
A redirect from an old subpage to the home page is technically a 301 and substantively a break. Google treats a redirect to an unrelated page like a soft 404 and largely discards the accumulated signal. Redirecting fifty old addresses to the root means everything was formally redirected and fifty pieces of substance were lost anyway.
The rule is therefore: every old address gets the closest matching target. Where none exists, a clean 404 is the more honest answer and healthier for the domain than a redirect into nothing. And no chains — a redirect pointing at a redirect pointing at a redirect costs load time and stops being followed beyond a certain length.
The German legal points checked during a relaunch
A relaunch is the cheapest moment to remove two widespread liability risks, because the texts are being touched anyway.
The legal basis in the imprint. Since May 2024 the relevant provision is section 5 of the German Digital Services Act, not section 5 TMG. Nothing changed in substance, but the references did. A page still headed “Angaben gemäß § 5 TMG” cites a statute that no longer exists.
The link to the EU online dispute resolution platform. That platform was shut down on 20 July 2025. A link to it now leads nowhere and is actionable under German competition law. Notably, a considerable share of the imprint guides currently ranking well still list this link as mandatory. Copying a template from the web without checking it against primary sources rebuilds the risk from scratch.
There is also the most common technical GDPR trap: fonts loaded from third-party servers. In 2022 the Munich Regional Court held that embedding Google Fonts via Google servers without consent is a data protection breach giving rise to damages. In a relaunch, fonts are always served from your own server — which settles the legal point and shortens load time at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
Will a relaunch cost me my search positions?
Not if every old address is redirected with a 301 to a counterpart that matches in substance and the content is preserved. Ranking losses after a relaunch almost always come from two mistakes: forgotten addresses that lead nowhere, and redirects that point everything at the home page instead of the matching subpage.
How will I know the relaunch was worth it?
From the comparison between the baseline and the second measurement four weeks later. Load time, the three Core Web Vitals, the number of Search Console errors and the number of accessibility violations are all measured twice. What happens to enquiries only becomes visible after several months and does not depend on technology alone.
Does my domain have to change?
No. The domain stays and only what sits behind it is rebuilt. Moving to a new domain is a separate undertaking with its own risk and is only done when there is a compelling reason.
Can I keep my existing copy?
Yes, migration is the normal case and the cheapest option. What usually helps is reworking the headings, because many older pages use marketing slogans as headings. Concrete questions as headings are read far better by search engines and AI systems.
What happens to my old site during the rebuild?
It stays online, unchanged. The rebuild happens on a separate, password-protected address that is blocked for search engines. The switch happens on go-live day, and the old state is kept as a backup.
Do you handle relaunches for sites outside Germany?
Yes, the technical work is the same. Note that the legal texts drafted here follow German law. For sites aimed at other jurisdictions, the legal texts need local advice — the redirect plan and the technical rebuild do not.
